As we progress bringing up beta users on VCTR I’ve been asked a few times how VCTR can be free. Interestingly, it might be more telling about today’s internet economy that most people don’t bother to ask. There are two parts to the answer.
VCTR is about building community sharing, crowd sourcing of configuration functionality, popularity, reliability and security. Like so many other examples today, such systems are free. If you contribute to the community, you get free service. Anyone used to free email, photo storage, or even search will find this completely familiar.
